We have Expanded Our Vision and Actions of Giving Back at Kill Your Competition® to Our Local Communities and Abroad.
As a USMC Combat Veteran Owned Business, Kill Your Competition was created to expand the vision of our other company – To Help Veterans, Military and First Responder Owned Businesses Find an Affordable, Honest Place to go to for Superior Web Design, Marketing & Advertising Services.
Part of that expansion is to work other businesses who are not Veteran, Military or First Responder owned, but share the love that we have to support those who have served or are currently serving in our military, law enforcement or fire departments. The other part of that expansion was to come along community and global needs. The best way to do that is work to dramatically grow our business so we can increase the amount of financial support we can provide locally in our community and abroad.
4 Ways Kill Your Competition® is on Mission:
1. Financially supporting organizations that help those in need or at risk locally and abroad through direct donations from our business or personal accounts as well as through Smile.Amazon.com when ordering supplies for our business when possible. Organizations we support are:
Healing Grace - We support 2 Children through Child Sponsorship in Cairo, Egypt.
Sponsorship is an opportunity for people around the world to be active in the life of a child or future leader. Taking poor children off of the street and preparing them for success in school. Children ages 3-5 go to school six days a week and receive a nutritious meal each day. Children ages 5-18 throughout Upper Egypt receive care in the areas of Jesus, education, and health. Students from poor villages are sponsored for university to have a lasting impact on their villages.
Idlewild Church - Which has Local Community Care addressing hunger, foster care, ESL, prison care, human trafficking , National Mission Care in Atlantic City area addressing the all-time high in crime, drug addiction, and human trafficking as well as New York with relationship building within the Muslim and Asian communities, and global mission care, and Global Missions providing nutrition and basic needs, relationship building, and more in 8 countries in Multiple Continents among various ethnic and religious communities.
Love 146 – Child Trafficking Prevention, Rehabilitation, Rescue and Restoration Locally and Abroad. Love146 is an international human rights organization working to end child trafficking and exploitation through survivor care and prevention. The trafficking and exploitation of children is one of the darkest stories and most severe human rights abuses imaginable. But for us, the hope of ending it is a reality. Love146 is helping grow the movement to end child trafficking while providing effective, thoughtful solutions. We believe in the power of love and its ability to effect sustainable change. Love is the foundation of our motivation.
2. Discounting services, and in some cases providing pro bono work, for numerous Veterans as well Nonprofits who Support Veterans. Over the years this has ranged from local, veteran owned businesses from California, Colorado and Florida to the Travis Manion Foundation in its earlier years in 2011.
3. Bringing food and treats to First Responders in multiple cities and counties including those who serve in the Department of Corrections. We have also created a group to help others expand this mission, called Cupcakes for Cops.
4. Financially and practically supporting Mukuni Village and Livingstone, Zambia who do not have the presence of organizations such as Children’s Hope Chest, Compassion International, World Vision, etc. in a village and city in Livingstone, Zambia with orphan and widow care as well as driving tourism to those who are visiting Victoria Falls, one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World, so they may buy tours and crafts to support families. In Mukuni Village alone, there are over 1000 orphans. Zambia has the highest orphan rate per capita in the world.
We Keep Our Overhead Low and Our Outpouring High
We have been able to accomplish much through careful stewardship. Everyone who works for KYC works from home. We don’t spend money on a big office and everything that comes with having that luxury, but we do invest in our clients with tools such as subscribing to comScore everywhere we place media.
We are committed to donating 50% of our profits for new clients to giving back to the communities we serve and those abroad that we have come to love.
KYC’s Biggest Goal for 2017
Our biggest goal this year is to raise enough funding to build 2 orphanages – 1 in Livingstone and 1 in Mukuni Village which is a short drive outside Livingstone - and install a new well in Mukuni Village that will allow the widows to create a new field to grow food in to feed their families, as well as sell extra food in the market to create income for education which is not free for children, healthcare, clothing and other basic needs.
After establishing the orphanages, establishing jobs for teachers and home mothers, we hope to connect them with a child sponsorship organization such as Compassion Intl or similar organization to continue to fund education, healthcare and nutrition for these children.
